Realistic expectations and informed choices of practice sites are encouraged. Times are regularly scheduled for first year interns to visit and ask questions of site coordinators and senior students currently in the sites.
*Not every preference can be met, but we try hard to accommodate
each intern based on individual career and educational goals, family needs,
and previous experiences.
Time allocations for FSN 681 (Dietetic Supervised Practice) and FSN 652
(Dietetic Internship Evaluation):
• Clinical Nutrition - 18 weeks, 2 days
• Evaluation: Case Studies & Seminar - 1 week
• FoodService Management Administrative Dietetics -
6 weeks
• Community Nutrition - 4 weeks
• Vacation - 1 week, 3 days
Total - 31 Weeks
Seven months of supervised practice (6 semester credits and 1 credit for Evaluation FSN 652) commences immediately following the first year of graduate coursework and runs from May through December.
